How CWS Blankets Bring Warmth and Hope to Crisis

Through CWS’ Blankets and Kits programs communities of people are given a tangible reminder that they aren’t alone during tough times. Whether it’s someone recovering from a flood or hurricane or a family fleeing their home in search of safety, CWS Blankets (and kits) are there to offer warmth, comfort and hope.

Our Process

CWS blankets are sent to partner organizations nationwide and overseas to support neighbors facing disasters or emergencies.

CWS adheres to all guidelines for humanitarian assistance mandated by the International Committee of the Red Cross. CWS has a long relationship with the Sphere project, a common set of international standards used in disaster response. Both set a strong mandate for appropriate standards in providing humanitarian assistance, and specifically prohibit proselytizing.

CWS TRANSPARENCY & ACCOUNTABILITY

During the cold winter months, Concern for Neighbors Food Bank in Mountlake Terrace, Washington, not only provides food but also the warmth of a CWS Blanket. Sasha is especially grateful for hers. She has gone without heat in her home for five years, and she relies on the blanket to stay warm. “It’s extra cold in the house,” she shared. “I need an extra blanket.”

For people like Sasha and many others around the world—facing challenges, lacking permanent housing, or needing extra warmth—these blankets are a lifeline, offering comfort, hope and relief in life’s toughest moments.
