When you support CWS’ Virtual Integration Services team, you become a lifeline for people like Mr. Francois, an asylum seeker from Haiti.
After losing his warehouse job, Mr. Francois faced overdue rent and uncertainty. Your generosity helps protect his dignity during overwhelming instability. Because of you, case manager Rose provides emergency rental assistance, case management, and a connection to legal help when Mr. Francois needs it most.
With your backing, Rose helps him obtain his asylum-filing receipt—an essential document required to progress toward receiving a vital work permit. Now eligible after 150 days, he can finally apply for a work permit. Yet the application fee threatens progress—until your compassion steps in. Your gift helps asylum seekers secure work permits, access emergency aid, and rebuild stability. Your compassion restores dignity, safety, and hope.

Church World Service is a global faith-based organization transforming communities around the world through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster. Since 1946, CWS has been an organization that deeply believes there is enough in this world for everyone. Born out of a desire to help the most vulnerable after World War II, we formed local partnerships to ensure people everywhere had healthy food and water, a safe place to call home and the ability to fulfill their purpose.
For nearly 80 years, our mission and approach remain the same—transforming lives in more than 65 countries with underserved communities across the globe.
